About Our School Bimbadeen Heights Primary School is located
within an established residential area of Mooroolbark in the outer eastern
suburbs of Melbourne. The school was established in 1976 and officially opened
in 1977. The present enrolment of over 600 students, is accommodated in 27 classrooms, with the additional facilities including a free standing library, music room and art room. Students are also able to benefit from access to a School Canteen and our large Multi Purpose Stadium. Our attractive landscaped garden areas are a major feature
of the school environment. The grounds include 2 large grassed playing
fields, including one all weather synthetic turf area, courts for basketball, tennis and netball, 3 shaded recreation areas
and three sets of fixed play equipment. Bimbadeen Heights Primary School (BHPS) has a distinctive ethos where excellence is encouraged
and recognized and diversity is embraced. Students, staff and parents work
together to provide a challenging and success-orientated program for all
students.
Our
emphasis on a strong parent- school partnership encourages
our parents to participate in all aspects of school life.
This
relationship gives
rise to a co-operative school culture, which is enhanced by a spirit of mutual
respect. BHPS provides a comprehensive curriculum featuring quality sequential programs in each learning area. A commitment to continuous improvement in quality teaching and learning is reflected in Professional Development programs.
Specialist programs are offered in Music, Physical
Education, Art, Library
and L.O.T.E. (German). Information and Communication Technology is integrated into classroom practice via computers in each classroom and a school-wide computer network. This enables e-mail, Internet and Intranet facilities in every room.
