How to Enrol

Follow these simple steps!

Choosing the right school for your child is a very important decision. These are the steps that we recommend you take:

Step 1: Find My School

Bimbadeen Heights Primary School zone is available on findmyschool.vic.gov.au which hosts the most up-to-date information about Victorian school zones.

Students residing in this zone are guaranteed a place at our school, which is determined on the basis of your permanent residential address. Your zoned school is the first school at the top of a list of 5 nearby schools to your residential address, the other 4 are listed for distance reasons only.

The Department provides guidance through the School Placement Policy to ensure that students have access to their designated neighbourhood school and the freedom to choose other schools, subject to facility limitations.

You can find more information and answers to frequently asked questions on the Department’s website under School zones.

Step 2: Transition to School Parent Information

2025 Foundation (Prep) enrolment

Our school zone

Our school zone is available on findmyschool.vic.gov.au which hosts the most up-to-date information on school zones in Victoria.

Students residing within our school zone are guaranteed a place at our school, which is determined based on your permanent residential address.

Our school manages enrolments using the Placement Policy to ensure that students have access to their designated neighbourhood school and may enrol at another school, if there are available places.

Foundation (Prep) enrolments

The Department of Education has a statewide Foundation (Prep) enrolment timeline.

The timeline advises families when and how to enrol their child into Foundation (Prep) at a Victorian government primary school, including Bimbadeen Heights Primary School.

You can find information and resources about the enrolment timeline at: Enrolling in Foundation (Prep).

You can find information and resources about the timeline, including factsheets and a poster at: Enrolling in Foundation (Prep). You can also download the ‘Foundation (Prep) Enrolment Information Pack for Parents and Carers’ from Enrolling in Foundation (Prep) (available from 15 April 2024).

You will be able to apply to enrol your child in Foundation (Prep) 2025 at Bimbadeen Heights Primary School from 15 April 2024.

What you need to do:

  1. Contact our school on 03 9726 9989 to book a school tour or to learn more about our school and the enrolment application process.
  2. Download the Foundation (Prep) enrolment information pack from Enrolling in Foundation (Prep) (available from 15 April 2024). This pack includes an application form, which you can also request from our school.
  3. Submit an enrolment application for Foundation (Prep) by Friday 26 July 2024.

Enrolment applications submitted after 26 July 2024 will be processed by our school as they are received, in accordance with the department’s Placement Policy.

Step 3: Take Our Online Video Tour

The ideal starting place to learn more about us. We have a library of videos where you can:

  • Meet our principal
  • Hear from our dedicated & talented teachers
  • Get to know some of our students
  • Gain some insights from our current parents
  • Learn about our curriculum opportunities
  • Tips for a smooth start to school for your child

… and so much more!

Step 4: Book a School Tour

A school tour with a member of our school’s leadership team is a great opportunity to see our school in action and to get a ‘feel’ for the school and assess if it will meet the learning needs for your child.

Interested parents and carers are encouraged to book a school tour. We conduct personal tours specifically for Foundation families from Term 1 through to the end of Term 2 by appointment only.  Tours for placements at all other levels are conducted throughout the year, on a needs basis and by appointment only.

Step 5: To be confirmed…

The Department of Education is working closely with us to establish an online application process. When further information comes to hand, we will update this page.

It is an exciting change for everyone which should ensure the enrolment process becomes easier for us all!

You are now required to provide documents to verify your child’s permanent residence. Any combination of the following documents is acceptable, as long as they add up to at least 100 points.

Step 6: Foundation (Prep) Transition Program

An important feature of our school is the well established and successful Foundation Transition Program that we run.  One of our priorities is that all children new to the school feel happy and secure as quickly as possible.  Having your child attend our Foundation Transition program is a great way to ensure they get off on the right foot.
