Music

It is the aim of this program to nurture a love and appreciation of music.  The music program at B.H.P.S. places strong emphasis on participation and sharing with others - at school and in the wider community.

Children of all year levels work on these concepts through activities such as:

- listening to music

- moving to music (creative and structured)

- playing instruments such as recorders, flutes, xylophones, metallophones, keyboards and untuned percussion

-singing songs and creating their own accompaniments. 

Children are taught to read music notation and encouraged to create individually and in groups. 

Children have the opportunity to participate in:

-Junior and Senior Choir

-EMR Choir

-Flute and Recorder Ensembles

-Production in grades 5 and 6

-Private Music Tuition is also available.
